‘Protecting’ who?

Dear Editor,

I am proud to be an American citizen, and because I am, I have a responsibility to share my views by electing the officials that govern my fellow citizens and me.

It is beyond belief how the left can even think of handing voting privileges to immigrants who brazenly come into the country illegally, allowing them the same rights as citizens.

In order to ensure a legal election I believe an ID should be shown. There is no reason that anyone cannot obtain a document with proof of identity in order to vote. If the Democrats say otherwise, they are playing the race card again; that is an insulting and degrading insinuation to those they think they are “protecting.”

If I do banking at a branch of my bank unfamiliar to me and am not recognized by the tellers that work there, I certainly expect to show identification in order to proceed with my business. If ID is needed for a personal transaction, why is showing an identification for an election less important?

Democracy is not being dismantled by conservatives as the left whines; rather I view it as conservatives seeking quality voting standards to ensure fair, undisputed elections.

This past year has shown the incompetence of the present administration and how deeply the American people have been affected by lack of leadership in all levels. Now, more than ever, we need to continue seeking God’s wisdom for guidance to get us through these difficult times.

Warren
