Unsteady waters

Dear Editor,

I see Piper VanOrd from Allegheny Outfitters is worried about enough room for vans with trailers, that the city is building to benefit her outfit.

Warren County Commissioner Jeff Eggleston seems to have concerns about her business also. He wants to know how much of a benefit will it be to Allegheny Outfitters.

Phil Caudill from Bent Run Brewing has an idea what is going on, will help tourism some but do not hurt other people. Bent Run may not get a huge jump in business like Allegeny Outfitters because most people will bring their own “adult beverage.”

City engineer Chad Yurisic said traffic engineers will address concerns about traffic congestion possibility if motorized boat use of launch is OK. What kind of boat launch is part of a $2.2 million project you can’t launch a a boat from?

Jim Decker from the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry has his mind made up. “Won’t be Wolf Run Marina,” which tells me no motorized boats, Allegheny Outfitters only.

I see toward the end of article, VanOrd said she supports shared use launch. I have my doubts about her being totally sincere as she is worried about room for vans and trailers of hers.

If the county chips in half million, it should chip in half million to every business registered in the county.

Revising, forgetting history

Dear Editor,

“What can the righteous accomplish when truth’s pillars are destroyed and law and order collapse?”

This question, penned by an ancient king, sagely speaks to what we are facing in America today. In today’s terms let’s consider a house that has weathered many storms and is need of improvements and repairs. This house is old yet provides a strong shelter from many of life’s threats and dangers. Over time residents discover that the roof is in need of serious repairs and agree something must be done.

These repairs are delayed or only partially remedied over time by the maintenance team. Some of the residents begin to complain to the maintenance team that change is needed. So, a few residents, loudly proclaiming they will fix the problems, join the maintenance team and start propagating a new plan. Looking at the chipped and faded paint, a few broken windows and leaking roof they decide to tear out the foundation.

First, they state they that the flag in the yard doesn’t represent the property and burn that. Then they revise the building plans to suit their agenda. The destruction of the foundations starts, a little here and a little there. Realizing this is not moving their plan forward fast enough they decide to dig out the foundation’s cornerstone declaring it weak and unable to continue to support the house.

They completely ignore other residents who remind them tearing out the foundation isn’t what is needed to stop the roof leaking. It is called hate speech, and threats are made to just burn the entire house to the ground.

So is the thinking of so-called progressive and liberal Democrats who are effectively in charge of the Biden administration and the Democrat party.

Is America in need of social upgrades? Absolutely. But revising history to suit their agenda and denouncing the very articles written by men who gave them their freedom and prosperity is as foolish as burning down the house because the roof leaks. Anyone can complain and point out problems. Real leaders provide solutions.

As I wrote over a year ago; blaming Trump isn’t Presidential, and isn’t a strategy. It’s only an excuse to fail. “Trump’s Fault” yell the Democrats as they firmly drag us to the precipice of no return. Oh yes then there’s that pesky law and order thing: sharply increased violent crimes, mass organized theft (not to be confused with looting), no or low bail for repeat felony offenders, massive illegal immigrant armies marching on our southern border. All this is brought to a city near you by the policies of today’s Democrats. And how can we forget dictatorial mandates, inflation and skyrocketing gas and heating prices. Solution: vote them out, oh wait, that annoying free and fair election thing is another one of those foundation stones.

Welcome to the United States of Marx comrade. No sir you don’t need any ID to vote and vote as often as you want. And here is $485,000 dollars for your family members we offended who illegally entered our country.

We need people who believe the house is worth the repairs needed and truly know how to get the job done. 2022 and 2024 can’t come soon enough. “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” — Jesus.

Let’s pray the days ahead are shortened. Amen.
