Normalcy within reach
Dear Editor,
I was intrigued by a recent letter that Norway and Sweden have gone back to pre-COVID normalcy. We could, too!
How? If we had the vaccination rates of those countries, we could both protect our children and all adults whose health conditions prevent a robust response to the vaccines and return to normal life!
Here is the key: Norway’s full vaccination rate is 86.2% with at least 91.6% of the population having had at least one dose.
Sweden’s is similar:78.8% fully vaccinated, 84.7% with at least one dose. Iceland is the leader: 91% fully vaccinated, 92% with at least one dose.
Why have so many Iceland residents been vaccinated? They see it as their civic duty to protect themselves, their loved ones and the whole community.(All these statistics are from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control.)
What is Warren County’s full vaccination rate? Around 40%? See the difference?
All we need to do here is get vaccinated! Life could be normal!
Ruby Wiles,
Warren
