It is with great sadness that I drive around town and view the remnants of our last election.
No matter which side of the isle you supported, it’s time to move on and accept the results of what was determined in November of last year. The signs from those who supported the “other side” are still in evidence and I’m at a loss to understand why this is happening.
Do they feel that when mistakes or problems arise for our president that they can say, see, I wanted the other guy in charge? These signs of continuing support may be harmless but they reveal an unwillingness to deal with reality and to move on in life. Most sadly of all, are those who display vulgar and hateful signs or flags that show their great lack of civility or regard for the feelings of others.
These displays may follow the rights of free speech, but are seen by children, and all who pass by, and it’s not alright! A dear friend of mine quotes the Old Testement scripture from Chronicles that states, “If my children, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and seek My face, I will come to them and heal their land.” Hatefulness and mean spiritedness is surely no way to bring the power and healing power of God to our nation or local community. Please, consider the message you send and may we all pray earnestly that care, consideration and cooperation will rule in these matters.
Let love, tolerance and acceptance be our goal. We are surely better that these displays reveal!
