Fueling inaccuracy

Dear Editor,

Gas prices are NOT going up because “X” was elected. Prices were down because demand was down — extreme cold and the pandemic had people staying home.

Refineries cut production because the need was just not there. To prop up oil prices, OPEC slashed production as well. Now as spring nears and people get more comfortable going out, demand is rising But oil companies are afraid of being burned so they have not started producing more oil. Until they do, prices will continue to rise.

Be nice if folks did their research before making accusations that are not true.

Arielle Smith,

Warren
