Lesson from a letter
Dear Editor,
In the Readers Speak section (Jan. 21) an anti-Biden submission purports to quote a Czech Newspaper. A Google search of the first sentence of that quote, “The danger to America is not Joe Biden, but a citizenry …” reveals that it is not factual.
A Reuters news fact check team and Politfact determined this quote was false and that it had been circulating since at least 2010. Other renditions have substituted Obama and other world leaders into the text.
Please question what you are told before you share it. Misinformation can be a dangerous thing. Our newspaper also has a responsibility to correct such misinformation.
