‘Failure’ in policy

Dear Editor,

The Democrats are leading this country into socialism. Where will our money go if they get control? A helping hand to our citizens is fine; taking care of those who wait for handouts is undesirable.

Thomas Jefferson, a Founding Father and principle author of the Declaration of Independence, was a wise statesman who left many thoughts for us to ponder.

One of them is, “I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

Winston Churchill shared, “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.”

In my opinion, the fake news we hear from the media is a form of censorship; citizens need to fact check for themselves, as recent letter writers have shared.

If the Democrats win the election in November, will the United States see more censorship, including religion and speech? These are freedoms for which so many have fought and died; turning back might not be easy to accomplish.
