Getting our attention?

Dear Editor,

I am not a pastor, priest, lay person, etc. I am just a person who knows we are in trouble–I’m a sinner saved by grace. I know who is in charge and has the answer. That is God Almighty; Jesus, His Son; and Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

In the bible there was Pharaoh who held the Israelites in slavery. Long story short, he wouldn’t let them go. Plague after plague: frogs, locust, loss of children, sores, etc. Eventually, the slaves were led to freedom–God was bigger than Pharaoh! Then there was Noah and the flood. The world was filled with evil and God destroyed all but Noah and his family–who were kept safe in the ark. Sodom and Gomorrah was a “hell hole of sin.” Everything they did was sinful–nothing was considered to be bad or wrong.

Look at the United States today. We are doing the same and more. Anything is okay. Nothing is sinful or wrong. There are many devastating things happening: forest fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods–everything imaginable. And now we have the corona virus. Is God trying to get our attention?

God gave us a perfect world with everything we need and the knowledge to take care of it, but what are we doing? We are running it straight to hell. Father, forgive us, for we know not what we do.

I do not want to scare anyone; I just want all of us to think about what we’re doing!

Reverently,

Margaret Leichtenberger,

Bear Lake
