Dear Editor,

As the world struggles to control this pandemic, it is important to keep in mind the irresponsible and dangerous comments made by Donald Trump about the Corona virus.

A partial timeline follows:

Jan. 22 — ‘We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

Jan. 31 — “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China, which is a very positive thing. Getting along with China, getting along with Russia.”

Feb. 2 — “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

Feb. 10 — “A lot of people think that it goes away in April with the heat – as the heat comes in.”

Feb. 24 — “The Corona virus is very much under control in the USA…Stock Market starting to look very good to me.

Feb. 26 — “It’s going to disappear one day, it’s like a miracle.”

In addition, we must not forget that in May, 2018, the Trump administration fired Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer, the head of the global health team on the National Security Council responsible for coordinating a response to a pandemic.

This irresponsible lack of leadership endangers us all.
