Dear Editor,

Kudos to the PA Dept of Environmental Protection (DEP) and other officials who decided to bring back spraying for black flies this season. Last year was the worst ever — it was nearly impossible to enjoy going for a walk, do yard work or basically any other outdoor activity because of them. When trying to promote Warren County as a beautiful area, it will certainly help that we don’t have to be swatting at black flies. Thank you!

On another note, anyone who travels to Warren from the Youngsville/Irvine area and takes the on-ramp near the Rouse Estate has surely noticed the unsightly piles of dirt, weeds and brush that are being dumped by the side of the ramp! At first when I noticed it last year, I thought they would level them off but they’re still there — and growing! Is there no other place to dispose of this mess?
