National Day of Prayer

Dear Editor,

May 1st and 2nd will be the annual National Day of Prayer!

On this day, people of faith will gather around the nation to pray for America. This year’s theme is “Wake up America.” This will be an opportunity for the people of Warren County to pray for concerns for our Nation. We will meet at the Court House on May 3 at 12 P.M. (In the event of inclement weather, we will meet at Faith Fellowship Church of God.)

Shirley Dobson, Chairman of the National Day of Prayer, is quoted as saying, “Now as never before, Americans need to be in prayer for our country and its leaders in all spheres of influence.”

Faith Fellowship Church of God, 208 Market St, Warren, PA, will again be hosting a special prayer service the evening before the National Day of Prayer. This will be held May 1 at 7 P.M. at the church. This service is designed to kick off the National Day of Prayer and to provide an opportunity for people that work during the day to participate in this special prayer event.

The Wednesday evening, service will include live worship music provided by Rev. Frank and Sandy Lanza and members of the Assembly of God congregation, as well as prayer by Rev. Lanza and other local leaders and lay people sharing from their hearts as they pray for the needs of our nation. Everyone is welcome and urged to attend either or both services.

Last year’s prayer gathering was very well-attended! What a beautiful show of spiritual solidarity that was to our community!

Rev. Dorothy Hilliard, Warren Area Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer,

Faith Fellowship Church of God, Warren
