What shapes results

Dear Editor:

With the election a few weeks away, I am sharing thoughts that may be of interest to some readers.

In this election the presidential candidates seem more interested in sharing negative views of each other, rather than the issues that confront the country. Of one thing I am certain, many citizens are ready for change and don’t relish more years like the last eight. With our right to vote, we have the power to make those changes that we feel are necessary.

In order to be informed, voters need to read party platforms; many issues are defined, and it is possible to align oneself with a party that represents the views that each individual feels are important.

Pro-life is an issue in which I take a personal interest. As an adopted infant, I am thankful that abortion was not part of my birth mother’s vocabulary. Thankfully, we have some politicians that see that as well.

It is important that each of us cast our votes in this election. Many may think their “one vote” won’t make a difference. However, all the “ones” do add up to many, and that’s what shapes the results.

Sincerely,

Norma M. Bankoske
