The students

Dear Editor,

As a senior of Warren Area High School, the past few days have been interesting while the teachers have been on strike. We are a county divided. Education is at a stand still. And who is the winner, no one. Teachers have been pushed around long enough, and simply cannot work another day without a contract. The school board retaliates by having their lawyer run a smear campaign against the teachers at the monday board meeting. Social media has been flooded by support for the teachers. People in our community care. There has been several businesses that have given to the teachers. Before we get too wrapped up in who we support (teachers or school board) please remember who is the most important people in this situation, the students. There wouldn’t even be an argument going on if there were no students to teach. So to the board, please end the strike and give the teachers a fair contract. I never thought I would say this, but I want to go back to school. To the teachers, we support you. I hope you get the contract you deserve.

Derick Nowacki, Warren
