To be proud of
Editor:
As a person who sees far too much bullying and cruelty in our paper, online and on TV, I witnessed a lady act as I think God Himself would be proud of.
One of my jobs leads me to do much observation of people and sometimes animals. I’ve seen, of course, some negative behavior. I have seen some crazy behavior, which you just have to laugh at. Then there’s the creepers who… well that’s a whole other letter (but you should know who you are).
Never have I witnessed a person as selfless and admirable as our duck lady. Yes, we named her. LOL. This lady not only performed a random act of kindness, but she did it with such patience and humanity.
We had a lone female duck who’d wandered off course. She was in a high-traffic area and could have easily been run over. This kind-hearted lady took it upon herself to coax our fine-feathered friend into safer territory. She spent the better part of half-an-hour with Daisy. Yes, I named her, too. LOL. Little Daisy was a little on the ADHD side, but the duck lady never let it ruffle her feathers. LOL.
She didn’t do this for any monetary reward. She did it simply as a kind soul who took the time to care.
Her compassion did not go unnoticed. My co-workers and I think she should be an inspiration to us all. I do believe there was a special ray of sunlight shining down upon her that day.
Thank you duck lady!
Sincerely,
