William (Bill) E. Stright

1963-2026

William (Bill) Edward Stright, Jr. was born April 2, 1963. After an extended illness, which he endured with great faith and courage, he stepped into the arms of Jesus on July 14, 2026.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jamie Renae Nelson Stright whom he married on May 16, 1992, loving daughter Hannah Renae Stright-Cochran (Harold), Warren, PA, sister Jane Marie Ibarra, AZ, two step-sisters, Nancy Pecor (Steve) CA, and Gail McBride (Don), FL, step-brother Bob Sorenson (Nichole), AZ, and step-sister-in-law, Patsy Sorenson, Youngsville, PA.

Wife, Jamie has three married sisters: Julie (Rev. Dr. Jerome) Beers, Jodie (Rev. John) Truex, Jonie (Rev. Timothy) Smitley. These couples deeply loved Bill and shared his strong faith in Jesus Christ. Also, surviving are several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Bill.

He was predeceased by parents William Edward Stright, Sr. and Mary Jane (Stright) Sorenson and step-brother Norman Sorenson.

Bill received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Edinboro University (1985). He served short stints at Peterson Brothers in Erie, Pa and at Warren General Hospital. He then launched a small business called Hopeworks, Inc., which he operated for the rest of his life. Bill loved his years as a case worker at the Warren, PA Salvation Army where he cared deeply about his clients and introduced many of them to personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Bill’s hobbies included reading, studying the Bible and theology, spending time with his family and before his illness, serving his church community. He loved animals and advocated for their proper treatment. Bill was a member of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be hosted at the Salvation Army at 311 Beech St., Warren, Pa on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
