John Burt Clinger, 72, of Tidioute, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
Born June 5, 1954, in Warren, PA, John was the son of the late John Amos and Arlene (McLaughlin) Clinger.
A true jack-of-all-trades, John worked for many years in the oil fields with Ipsco Co., as well as in construction. He was always very proud of his work. As a youngster, he was fond of horses, and he later developed a lifelong passion for rock 'n' roll. A talented musician, John played in several bands over the years. He also loved riding his Triumph motorcycles and was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. John cherished his hometown community and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rena Clinger, and their children: Joe Allen (stepson) and his wife, Jenni, along with grandsons Alex and Reagan of Moore, OK, Jeremiah Clinger (son) and his wife, Jen, along with grandchildren Kyah, Nadine, and Michael of Youngsville, PA, Erica Lewis (daughter) and her husband, Josh, along with granddaughter, Laci of Irvona, PA
He is also survived by three sisters: Marie Rottman of Grove City, Debbie Roofner (husband Chris) of Pleasantville, and Kristi Pfoutz (husband Jeff) of Youngsville, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Dickson and Kim Fairchild.
?A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Swede Cemetery in Tidioute.
