Donald M. “Don” Bauer, 79, of Youngsville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Warren County Hospice House, Warren, PA.
Don was born on December 31, 1946, in Cherry Tree, PA, a son of the late Carl and Nina Schreckengost Bauer.
He was a longtime member of Youngsville Free Methodist Church, where he faithfully served as a trustee, helped serve church dinners, and mowed the church lawn.
As a teenager, Don was a farmhand on various farms. He later worked in waste management at Torpedo Specialty Wire for 38 years before retiring in 2013.
Don will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous heart. Above all, Don cherished his family, treated everyone with kindness and respect, and could always be counted on to make someone smile. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was mowing lawns, grocery shopping, or doing odd jobs for senior citizens. He enjoyed riding his blue bicycle around Youngsville, walking through town, and spending time with his neighbors. He loved playing ball with the neighborhood kids and had a wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter to everyone around him.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Carrie Bauer (1979); three sisters: Jean Brothers, Darlene Confer and Carol Groner; two brothers: Gerald Bauer and Thomas Bauer.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol Ann Coons Bauer, whom he married on November 2, 1974; two daughters: Jenna (Michael) Arthur of Youngsville, PA and Mandy (Kash) Rizvi of Pittsburgh, a granddaughter: Aubrey Bauer of Youngsville, PA and a grandson: Owen Rizvi of
Pittsburgh, PA, a brother-in-law: George Groner of Corry, PA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Family and friends may call at Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, PA on Saturday, August 15th from 10am until 11am. A Celebration of Life service will be held there at 11am. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery Columbus, PA, where Don will be laid to rest beside his infant daughter Carrie.
