Patricia Darlene “Dar” Sapanero, 68, of Sugar Grove, PA, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 15, after a sudden illness.
She was born in Warren on July 20, 1957, to Ralph and Naomi Stewart.
Dar was a lady with a big heart who was willing to help anyone with anything. She was the best grandma and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a
special bond with her great-granddaughter Ashlyn. Her famous dish was her beloved spaghetti salad. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dar liked to garden around her house, planting vegetables and flowers. She was a homemaker but used to work at the Busy Bee in Warren before it closed and worked at car shows and flea markets selling anything and everything. She enjoyed doing puzzles and was an avid reader. You could always count on her to drink coffee at any time of the day. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Dar is survived by her father, Ralph Stewart Jr.; her children, Tanya (Jeramy) Card, Mario Sapanero Jr, Anthonio “Tony” Sapanero; her step children, Ian (Meg) Lawson, Amber (Corey) Hill, and Miles Lawson; her grandchildren, Collin (Carly Brunetto) Ruland, Curtis (Julia Bailey) Ruland, Cristian Card, Michelle (Michael) Crouse, Jeramy (Sabrina) Card, Anthony Kriner, Evan Sapanero, Candace Bush, and Trey Robinault; her step- grandchildren, Lyric and Jayce Lawson,
and Caden and Noah Hill ; her great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tatdum, Brennex, Rayleigh, Fawn, Emerson, Odin; her siblings, Susan, Daniel & Jay R Stewart and Lee (Gary) Posey; her best friend, Karen Hill; her “fur baby”, Roxy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dar was preceded in death by her mother, Naomi, her grandma, Alice, and grandpa, Ralph Sr, her brother, Ralph “Eddie” Stewart III, her grandson, Dylan Bush, her husband, Mario Sapanero Sr in 1991, her long-time companion, Daniel Winwood in 2009, and her fiance and love of her life, Dean Grosshans in 2018.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. Visitation for Dar will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 21, from 11am-1pm with a funeral service to follow at 1pm.
Interment will take place at Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove, PA.
