He also served as the Kane Area School District physician. He was an active member of St. Callistus Parish, serving as a lector, usher, and Eucharistic minister and inducted as a member of the Knights of Columbus. One of his many hobbies included amateur photography. Doc took many photos of his family and nature, especially flowers, often hanging them in his offices in Kane and Sheffield.

He is survived by his wife Susan of Scranton, Pennsylvania and four children: Emmanuel (Megan) Hipolito III of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Jessica Hipolito of Long Beach, California; Jason Hipolito of Scranton, Pennsylvania; and Emily Hipolito of Kane, Pennsylvania. As in his life, Doc dedicates himself to medical practice in death. His body will be donated to the University of Pittsburgh Medical School for future doctors to continue learning from his experiences. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Callistus Saturday July 18th at 11:00 a.m. There will be an hour of visitation time preceding the Mass in the Gathering Space at St. Callistus.
