Richard J. Seymour

Rick was born in Warren, PA, on April 29, 1953, the son of the late Merle A. and Ida (Scandreth) Seymour.

Rick was a 1971 graduate of Warren Area High School and a 1973 graduate of Jamestown Business College. Rick started his career as an accountant working in payroll in various companies in Philadelphia and New Jersey. He transitioned to software consulting, specializing in payroll and benefits software, working with various companies throughout the country. After retiring, he enjoyed his part-time job of pet sitting.

Rick met his life-long partner, Russell Rogers, on January 1, 1980. They married on July 3, 2015, and spent 45 wonderful years together before Russell’s death on September 22, 2025.

Rick is survived by his 2 sisters, Sandy Paden and her fiance, Dave Sandeen, Karen Seymour and her husband, Bob Blood; his niece, Wendy Lynch and her husband, Steve, and his niece’s widower, Wayne Sherretts. He is also survived by 3 grandnephews, 2 great grandnephews, 3 great grandnieces, and several cousins.

In addition to his husband and parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Seymour, his niece, Stacy Sherretts, and his brother-in-law, Joe Paden.

Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory in Murrells Inlet, SC, has assisted the family with the arrangements. Pursuant to Rick’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell, PA, at the family’s convenience.
