Mary W. Brown

She was born on December 10, 1935, in Spartansburg, PA, a daughter of the late, Robert and Agnes (Rugar) Vanderhoof.

Mary was raised and educated in Spartansburg and Youngsville and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1953. She then married and stayed home to raise and care for her family. Mary later worked for Sylvania and then Blair Corporation.

She was a member of Sanford Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed reading, camping, watching game shows and completing puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Brown; two sisters, Eva Flegal and Shirley Flasher and four brothers, Cleon, Norman, Robert and Charles Vanderhoof.

Mary is survived by her children, Leonard (Linda) Brown of Pittsfield, PA, David Brown of Naples, FL, Vicky (Jim) Powell of Spartansburg, PA, Cindy (Rick) Upton of Spring Creek, PA and Kimberly (Stacy) Patterson of Spartansburg, PA.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, whom she was incredibly proud of.

No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
