Arthur R. Thompson
1952-2026
Art Thompson, 73, of Torpedo, PA went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 21, 2026 with his loving wife of 53 years, Esther, by his side. He was also surrounded by his family that he loved dearly.
He was born on July 18, 1952 in Titusville, PA to Glenn Thompson and Janice (Holcomb) Thompson. He graduated from Youngsville HS in 1970 then attended Penn State New Kensington.
They had 4 children and 12 grandchildren. He worshiped and preached at several churches including Pittsfield Otterbein Methodist and Lighthouse Christian Church in Titusville. He worked for 25 years at the National Forge before obtaining an Associates Degree from Clarion as Paralegal. He was on the Board of Directors of Warren County Christian school for many years.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Esther, their children: Heather (Don) Sitter of Erie, Amy Thompson of Warren, Benjamin (Carrie) Thompson of Shippenville, Michael (fiancee, Alessia Luchetti) of Erie and Eric Schweitzer of Erie. He was known as “G-Dad” to his beloved grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, William and Waid (Lynne) Thompson, and his sisters, Patricia (Tom) Battko and Jan Bowen.
Visitation will be held at Youngsville FMC, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, PA 16371, on Thursday, June 25th from 4 -7pm and Friday, June 26th from 10am-12pm followed by a funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Art’s name to Grand Valley VFD, 12864 Route 27, Grand Valley, PA 16420 or to Garland VFD, 31 Bailey Ln, Garland, PA 16416.
