Joyce I. Greenland

She was born on November 4, 1942, in Gowanda NY, the daughter of the late Homer E. Tatchell & Clara E. Danker Holmes. Joyce had resided in Russell since 1977. She retired from Cummins Engine in 2008, after 24 years of service. Rarely missing a day at work, she was highly respected for her strong work ethic.

She was a voracious reader who could always be found with a book nearby. There was a special place in her heart for dachshunds, having been a dog-mom to several over the years. Joyce also enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with friends over lunch.

Joyce will be remembered for her generosity, as well as her love for family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Blanco (Patrick Ahern) of Boca Raton, Florida: her son, Michael (Susan) Blanco of Lottsville, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren, Tyler (Morgan) Blanco: Lauren (Logan) Head; Allison (Trent) Dunn, as well as four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Bonnie Olsen & Beverly Mitchell.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John Greenland Sr. as well as sisters, Bette Wolfe & Linda George.

At Joyce’s request, no services will be observed. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
