Gerald I. White
Gerald I. White, 83, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at UPMC Chautauqua. He was born in Jamestown on Sept. 7, 1942, and was the son of the late H. Morris and Marian Crick White.
A 1961 graduate of JHS as well as JCC, Jerry also completed the two-year LPN Program at Erie 2 BOCES. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1964 to 1967 in the 3rd Armored Division and was a retiree of TitanX.
Jerry was a member of the Fluvanna American Legion Post 364, the Mayville Senior Citizens, and volunteered as a foster grandparent at Bush School. He enjoyed music, especially jazz and following retirement, travel and cruises with his wife, Beverly.
Jerry worshipped his grandchildren and without fail attended all their sports events and performances. Always busy and involved, he personified the term ‘work ethic’.
Surviving is his wife, Beverly Sandeen White, whom he married May 31, 1969; three sons, Mark A. White (Katia), Christopher M. White (fiance Maggie Cady), and Kevin A. White (Cammie); two cherished grandchildren, Journey and Tavares White; and a brother-in-law, David Sandeen. Beverly is deeply grateful for the support of her sons over the last several years.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Bruyere; parents-in-law, Percy “Pat” and Sylvia Sandeen; as well as ‘everybody’s aunt’, Josephine LeVan.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 15th in the Lind Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service commencing at 1 p.m. The Rev. Michael Childs will officiate, and burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Warren.
