James L. Marshall

James Leroy Marshall, 83, of Tidioute, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 27, 2026. Born Sept. 26, 1942 in Western Pennsylvania, to the late James and Margaret Marshall, Jim dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his community.

Jim married the love of his life, Betty Lou Pritchett, on Jan. 28, 1968. They spent 58 years of loving marriage together, and she survives at home. His career took them to Baltimore, Arlington, San Francisco, Detroit, Toledo, and lastly back to Western Pennsylvania.

Jim received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He spent 35 years in the finance industry, first with Thomson and McKinnon and then with Morgan Stanley. In his early days, Jim taught financial courses at the University of Baltimore, served as Vice President of the Society for the Advancement of Management in Baltimore and President of the Toledo, OH Bond Club.

Jim was deeply involved in the Methodist Church, holding numerous leadership positions. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, including affiliation with the Scottish Rite and the Shriners. Jim also served as a Lions Clubs International member for about 45 years, was Vice Chair of the Tidioute Community Charter School Board, and belonged to the Save Our School Committee.

Jim proudly taught hunter education for the PA Game Commission for 25 years. Until his passing, he chaired the Warren Electric Cooperative Board and served on the boards of Pennsylvania Rural Electric and Allegheny Electric Cooperative.

Jim dedicated 70 years to the Boy Scouts of America, achieving Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster ranks and serving on multiple council Executive Boards. In Warren, he was Director Emeritus of the Chief Cornplanter Council, served as District Chairman and Council President, and received both the Silver Beaver and the Daniel Carter Masonic Award.

Jim is survived by his wife, many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends and neighbors. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365. A memorial service will be held at Pittsfield Wesleyan Methodist Church in Pittsfield PA on April 18, 2026 at 1PM. The family will plan a memorial service at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Joppa MD.
