Jeanne Cahoon of Eden Prairie, MN passed on February 22, 2026. Born in 1948 in Warren PA, she was the daughter of Albert and Genevieve “Jenny” Book. After graduating high school, Jeanne moved to the Twin Cities, where she would build her life and career.
Jeanne was an unwavering fan of the Minnesota Vikings, a devoted “dog mom,” and a doting grandmother. Whether she was tending to her garden, enjoying game shows, or sharing a laugh with friends, her greatest joy was found in the company of those she loved. Jeanne moved through life with a rare ability to adapt to change, celebrate victories, and learn from every challenge. Even in her final moments, she remained kind, curious, and strong.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Sampson; her son, Matthew (Melissa) Legg; her five cherished grandchildren: Ryan, Evan, Ethan, Tyler, and Bennett; and her sisters, Jane Book and Jeri Munksgard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Book.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Peace Hospice, 2076 St. Anthony Ave, St. Paul, MN 55104.
