Janice L. Fedorchick
Janice Lorraine Fedorchick, 92, a lifelong resident of Cherry Grove, Pa, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, March 20, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born on March 18, 1934, in Cherry Grove, the daughter of the late Henry N. Sorenson and Flossie (Howard) Sorenson. Janice was a 1951 graduate of Sheffield High School. She was employed for many years at the Warren State Hospital and Blair Corporation until her retirement.
Her faith and daily walk with Christ were of the upmost importance to Jan. She read and studied her bible daily. She also spent much time in prayer especially for her family and those who were less fortunate and ill. She spent her life giving and helping others in any way she could. She lived a life of example, God first, family and others second. She was an active member of the Cherry Grove FM Community Chapel, where she served in many capacities. She was an avid reader; she loved to do puzzles and play solitaire and was always up to the challenge of a good game of Scrabble. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was right by her husband Tony’s side as they lived in several states during his career in the United States Army. Janice will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, especially her dear family.
Left behind to cherish Janice’s memory are her children, a son, Steven Fedorchick, of Warren, PA, and her daughters, Karen Rubright and her husband Kenneth and Barbara Streich, all of Sheffield. Her grandchildren, Carleena McMillen (Robert), Jeremy Fedorchick (Jennifer), Kristy Rieck (John), Keith Fedorchick (Jamie) and Kerri Scarbrough (Brad), nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tony, five brothers (two in infancy), four sisters, 1 grandson, 1 great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public calling hours observed. A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Pastor Ruth Ann Varatto presided.
The family respectfully asks that donations be made in Janice’s memory to the Cherry Grove FM Community Chapel, PO Box 33, Clarendon, PA 16313 or the Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department, 6045 Cherry Grove Road, Clarendon, PA 16313.
