Diane Donovan, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Bradenton, Florida, on March 23, 2026, following complications from a broken hip, surrounded by her loving children.
Born Dec. 30, 1951, in Warren, Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Helen Elmquist, Diane devoted her life to her family and to her late husband, James Michael Donovan, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
She worked at Blair Corporation for over 30 years and later in private home health care. Diane took pride in her home, decorating in a country, primitive style, and always putting her family first. She enjoyed shopping, landscaping/ gardening, dining out on weekends, and above all, being a loving mother. In 2015, she retired and moved to Florida with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Donovan, and her parents, Elmer and Helen Elmquist.
She is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie (Jamie) Young, and granddaughter, Laykin; her son, Patrick Donovan; her sister, Karen Valentine; her brother Steven Elmquist; her best friend, Ronnette Oca; Her beloved dog Lucy, and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
