Sue R. Holden, 92, passed away at her home in Tiona, PA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in her grandmother’s house in Newmansville, PA, to Samuel and Olive (Bowen) Moore, on Jan. 9, 1934.
Sue attended a one-room school house as an elementary student, and then graduated from Tionesta High School in 1951. Sue then received her RN license from Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY, and worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Warren General Hospital, until her retirement after 32 years.
Sue married Keith Holden in 1955 at the Newmansville First Methodist Church. Together, they raised their family in Warren County: Daugher, Catherine McElhaney, Sons, Daniel, Dean (Jennie), Dana (Connie) and Thomas (Tammi) Holden.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Keith, in 1989, and her daughter, Cathy in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Moore. In addition to her sons and their wives, Sue leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Emily (Steve) Lathrop, Russel (Allison) Holden, James (Morgan) Holden, Allie (Greg) Kolenda, Sarah (Kenneth) White, Dillon Holden, Derek Holden, Kristy (Marshall) Davis, Mikayla Holden, Dustin (Tess) Holden, Keith Holden, Kyle Holden, Kole (Elyse) Holden, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed mowing her lawn, gambling at the casino, and visiting with her friends, especially her dear friend, Alberta. Her favorite times were celebrating Christmas at her home, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365. Friends and family are welcome for visitation from 11AM-1PM on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, with a funeral service to follow.
