Scott G. Miley
Scott G. Miley, 55, of Canton, OH, and formerly of Warren passed away recently at his home. Scott was born in Warren on Jan. 13, 1970, to Susan Miley Libby and David Miley. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Warren Area High School, and later Devry University.
In 1988 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he excelled in aviation electronics as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate and was awarded several service medals.
Following honorable discharge from the Navy, Scott received his HAZMAT license and drove tanker truck for Advantage Tank Lines for many years, eventually transitioning to Information Technology for Kenan Advantage Group in Canton, from which he retired.
From an early age Scott was an avid guitar player and he continued throughout his life, often with friends. As a teen he collected comic books and had a special talent for drawing anything he saw or imagined. As he got older, he found great interest in metal detecting, history, and geology, especially the geology of western Pennsylvania. Most recently he enjoyed flying drones and took special interest in the images recorded from the heights.
Scott will be lovingly remembered for his optimistic attitude, fun sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone laugh.
Scott is survived by his mother, Susan Libby, his brother, John Miley, and sisters Karen (Gregg) Ecelberger and Emily (Jon) Yaegle, and dear cousin Libby Spitale.
He was preceded in death by his Great Aunt Rita Miley, Father David Miley, Grandparents Howard Bush and Gale Atkins, and John and Katy Miley
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
