Jackson E. Wilcox
Jackson Earl Wilcox, born April 24, 1939, in Russell, Pennsylvania, died on Feb. 14, 2026. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Margaret and Warren Wilcox, a sister, Carrie Sweeney, and a brother, Weston Wilcox. He is survived by his long term partner, Jay Jacobsen; a daughter Theresa McCrain (Tim) ; sisters Delores Bartlett (Wes); Freda Pyles (JR); brothers Frank (Sher) and Lawrence; two grandchildren Josh (Danielle ) and Eli (Charlotte ); and one great-granddaughter June Pavliv-McCrain.
Jack was a 1957 graduate of Eisenhower High School, then joined and served four years in the U.S Navy as an electrician. He returned home and worked at Struthers Wells until moving to live most of his adult life in Virginia, and recently moved to North Carolina. He spent many hours cultivating vegetable and flower gardens, loved all animals, nature and art, and was active in politics . He was a kind soul who was a fountain of knowledge on local and family history, and eager to share it with all.
There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
