Richard M. Cornell Sr.

He was born in Titusville, PA, on April 5, 1940, a son to the late Clarence and Bessie (Seely) Cornell. After he graduated from Youngsville High School in 1959, Richard served in the United States Army. He also owned and operated an auto repair shop for many years and when he wasn’t working he was enjoying his time outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, watch wildlife (particularly the birds and deer) and was a skilled carpenter and woodworker repairing his barn, building deer stands and making wooden gifts for his family. Richard enjoyed trips to try his luck at one of the nearby casinos where he was known to hit a nice jackpot occasionally. He had many good friends and greatly enjoyed meeting and talking with them, discussing recent events and sharing old time stories.

Richard was a devoted family man and dearly loved his wife, son, daughter in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carol (Van Guilder) Cornell, his son, Rick (Maria) Cornell Jr. of Nyack, NY, his grandchildren, Sarah (Lawrence) Cornell Fischer and Nicholas Cornell as well as his great-grandchildren, Iliana, Vivienne and Dahlia.

Per Richard’s request, no services will be held.
