Mona Belle (Yeager) Rosequist, 78, of Russell, PA, passed away peacefully on Jan. 12, 2026, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore “Ted” Rosequist, with whom she shared more than 33 years together, including 25 years of marriage.
Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, Mona was the daughter of the late William John Yeager and Ruelena Ruth (Sadler) Yeager.
Mona was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, where she was a member and sang in the church choir. In her early years, she also enjoyed playing the piano. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1965, where she was a member of the A Cappella Choir, and music remained a meaningful presence throughout her life. Following high school, Mona worked as a dental assistant at Warren Dental Arts.
In 1974, Mona moved with her family to Nazareth, Pennsylvania, where she devoted herself to both family and community. During this time, she served as a Girl Scout leader and worked in several roles, including receptionist at a dress factory in Nazareth, dental receptionist and dental assistant in Easton, and a Real Estate Assessor for the Northampton County Assessment Office.
In 1987, Mona relocated to State College, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a receptionist at Toftrees Golf Resort. It was during this period that she met the love of her life, Ted, and soon returned to her hometown of Warren, PA. There, she worked briefly at the Warren County Courthouse before finding her stride in hospitality. She waitressed and bartended at the Busy Bee, Conewango Club, and the Fernwood Restaurant and Inn, where she worked for 15 years. Mona also worked at Warren Manor Nursing Home and drove bus routes for the Warren Area School District.
Mona eventually found her true calling at the Warren State Hospital, where she served first as a Psychiatric Aide and later as a Therapeutic Recreational Services Worker with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. Known for her compassion, creativity, and dedication, she made a lasting impact on the lives of those she served. She retired in 2019.
Mona was a woman of great strength, adaptability, and quiet determination. She wore many hats throughout her life, met challenges with grace, and consistently cared for others. Above all, she loved her family deeply and found beauty in life’s ordinary moments. She will be fondly remembered for her family picnics, backyard campfires and memorable holiday dinners that brought her family together around a table filled with love and laughter. Her legacy lives on in all who knew and loved her.
Mona is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Hannold, Amie Edwards and her husband, William Edwards, and Kassie Yeager; her stepchildren, Susan Sveda, Timothy Rosequist, and Margaret Zaffino; her grandchildren, Rachel Singley, Trevor Markovitz, Reed Markovitz, and Emma K’Meyer; her sister-in-law, Irma Yeager, widow of William “Bill” Yeager; her cousin, Carolyn Priest, widow of Ronald Priest; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mona was preceded in death by her brother, William Lewis Yeager; her sister, Miriam “Patsy” Hoffman, wife of Ralph Hoffman; her paternal grandparents, Magnus and Lucy (Goff) Yeager; and her maternal grandparents, Manfred and Cora Belle (Amadon) Sadler.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Pennsylvania Avenue, Warren, PA 16365. Visitation will take place from 11 AM to 1 PM, with the service immediately following.
