Dorothy B. Sutton

Dorothy was born on Feb. 9, 1937, in Pittsfield, PA, the daughter of late Hughie Sutton and Mattie Morrison Smith.

Dorothy worked at A.R.C. in her younger years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Warren, PA.

Dorothy loved knitting and embroidering and collecting teddy bears. Her favorite Teddy Bear was Brownie, her special companion and her best friend. Brownie went everywhere with Dorothy. Dorothy enjoyed going to all the activities the Rouse Home offered throughout her 12-year stay there.

In addition to Dorothy’s parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her fiance Dick; a sister: Roberta Matve; two brothers: Donald and Robert Sutton and a half-brother: John Smith.

Dorothy is survived by a sister-in-law: Margery Peters of Bear Lake, PA; nieces and nephews: Jodi (Jason) Harkins of Spring Creek, PA, Josh (Tyler) Sutton of Pittsburgh, PA, Christine (Mike) Hecht of Columbus, OH, Carol Close of Squire, W.V., Cheryl Miller of Walterboro, S.C., Leroy Matve of Harrimen, TN, Shanon Matve of Daytona, FL, Kimberly (CJ) Cross of Youngsville, PA and Theresa Sutton of Tidioute and the Rouse Home staff who was her family too.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Rouse or Paws Along the River.

Friends and family may visit McKinney Funeral Home, 54 W. Main Street, Youngsville, PA on Saturday, Jan. 17th at 2:30 PM for memorial service.
