Donna P. Tuneberg
Donna P. Tuneberg, 89, a lifelong resident of Barnes, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at AHN St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA, following a brief illness. She was born on July 18, 1936, the daughter of the late Kenneth Pierce and Cora (Spicer) Pierce. As a young girl Donna attended Regan Run School, a one room schoolhouse, and graduated from Sheffield High School in 1954, where she studied business and was an active member of the 4-H club. She married Robert Tuneberg on June 29, 1963, at the Barnes United Methodist Church. She was employed at the former Blair Corporation in which she retired and after retirement continued her working career at the former K-Mart and the Sheffield Pharmacy.
Donna was a lifelong member of the Barnes United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School for many years and served as the financial secretary. She would also decorate the sanctuary, arranging the flowers at Christmas and Easter.
Donna enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and working on jigsaw puzzles. She would relax by watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She would take on the challenge of competing with them. You could often find her watching wildlife in her back yard, enjoying the quiet moments of watching God’s creatures the birds and the deer and just quietly spending time in nature.
Donna was a quiet, humble lady who will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her family that she loved dearly.
Left behind to cherish Donna’s memory are her son, Mike Tuneberg and his wife Joy of League City, TX and her daughter, Mary Thomas of Barnes, PA, her grandchildren, Julia Tuneberg and her Fiance, Tyler Andrews of Dickinson, TX and grandson, Seth Tuneberg and wife Allie of Angleton, TX, great grandchild, Lily Tuneberg, Angleton, TX, a brother, Eddie Pierce and wife Donna of Warren, PA and a nephew, Kenneth Pierce. She is further survived by her precious cats Mandy and Tabby.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Cora Piece and her husband, Robert Tuneberg.
