Karen Ruth (Bloom) Braley, 78, of Sugar Grove, PA, passed away on Dec. 11, 2025, surrounded by loving family

Karen was born in Johnstown, PA, on Aug. 5, 1947, to the late Bernard and Ruth Bloom. Karen graduated from Portage High School in 1966. She worked in the Cambria County Treasurer’s Office from 1967 to 1972. In 1972, she worked for The Methodist Hour in Orlando, FL. She moved to Lander, PA in 1973 and started to work with the Warren County School District, Northwest Savings, and then the Warren County Treasurer’s Office for 16 years.

Karen married her loving husband, Ed Braley, on April 24, 1976, at the Lander United Methodist Church with her father, Reverend Bernard Bloom, officiating. Their devoted daughter, Emily, was born on Feb. 20, 1981. She is an assistant produce team leader at the Hermitage Giant Eagle.

Karen and Ed volunteered at the Rouse Home for over 10 years and enjoyed that. Karen loved shopping, especially when her mom was around to accompany her. Most of all, Karen loved her family.

Karen was a member of the Mission Covenant Church in Sugar Grove for over 40 years. She and Ed attended the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jamestown, NY.

Karen’s loving relatives will continue to cherish her memories, including husband Ed and daughter Emily, brother-in-law Ralph and Dolly Braley, sister-in-laws Sylvia Braley and Lucy Bloom, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Preceding Karen in death are parents, Bernard and Ruth Bloom, brother Bernard Terry Bloom, & brother-in-law, Clarence Braley.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 4pm-7pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 17, at 11am at the funeral home with Dr. Rev. John DeLancey officiating.

Interment will be in Foster Cemetery in Lander, PA.

Memorial donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the Lander Fire Department or the Hillcrest Baptist Church, 40 Hallock St, Jamestown, NY, 14701
