Dianne Lois Newton Murphy, 88, Warren, Pennsylvania, formerly of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away, surrounded by love, at Warren Manor in Warren, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was 88 years old.
Born in Rollin, Michigan, Nov. 2, 1937, Dianne was the daughter of the late Lewis L. and Evelyn M. (Russell) Newton. She married John A. Murphy on Nov. 18, 1961, in Canton, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Nov.1, 2020.
Dianne graduated from Malone College and later studied at Kent State University East Liverpool Campus. She retired in April of 2006 from East Liverpool City Hospital. Previously, she had also worked at Dr. Edith Gilmore’s office and at Addison Community Hospital. Both she and her husband John were members of the Lions Club where she took joy in serving her community.
Dianne was a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, watching and learning about birds, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, sharp wit, sense of humor, infectious laugh, and warm smile. She will be sadly missed by all she has left behind. The world was a much better place with her in it.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Deborah Murphy and her partner, Raineldo Saquin, of Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, David Murphy and his wife, Carol, of Olathe, Kansas, and Doris Cox and her husband, Lee, of The Villages, Florida and her beloved grandchildren Nathan Greenawalt, Aaron Greenawalt, and his husband Ben Fennell, Eric Murphy, Alexander Murphy, Yvaine Murphy, Ian Cox and Sarah Cox and her fiance, Daniel Paulin, her brother Cecil E. Newton and his wife Barbara, and sister Janet M. Mosher.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dianne was proceeded in death by her brothers Donald L. Newton and Lyle L. Newton.
A private family service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 15th, officiated by Pastor Nancy Schwanke.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool, Ohio.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 20th at 1 P.M. at the Inter-Faith Chapel in Warren, Pennsylvania, officiated by Pastor Nancy Schwanke.
