Charles “Charley” R. Anderson, 89, formerly of Cherry Grove, passed away on Dec. 27, 2025. Charley was born to the late Leonard and Georgia Anderson in Pierre, SD, on Jan. 10, 1936.
Charley married the love of his life, Marilyn Howard, on Oct. 19, 1957, and shared a loving devoted marriage for 62 years.
Charley served his country as a part of the Army, serving in Germany. When he returned stateside, he began working for National Fuel and Gas as a pipeline worker. Later in his career, he worked as a well tender before retiring after 42 years of dedicated service. Charley was a member of Hessel Valley Lutheran Church where he enjoyed worshipping the Lord. He also enjoyed being a member of the Zem Zem Shriners where he volunteered many hours. Charley was a 32degree Mason and took great pride in what he did. He loved the outdoors often hunting or fly-fishing in his free time. Charley even raised bird dogs to help him hunt.
Charley is survived by his son, Dan (Lori) Anderson of Cherry Grove; his daughter, Brenda (Pat) Davidson of Cherry Grove; his grandchildren, Zachary (Sophia) Anderson; JJ Anderson; Gabrielle Anderson; and Luke Davidson. He is survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Charley is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn (Howard) Anderson; his infant son, Jeffrey; and his brother, Len Anderson.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave E Warren, PA 16365. Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Zem Zem Shriners or Warren County Hospice.
Interment will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery.
