Meredith Hunter McIntosh

Meredith Hunter McIntosh

Meredith Hunter McIntosh, our wonderful sister and aunt, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her home.

Meredith, also known to her siblings and relatives as Meri was born June 18, 1940, to John Mendell Hunter and Elizabeth W. Hunter. She was raised in Warren and graduated from Warren High School in 1958. Upon high school graduation she furthered her education and received her nursing degree from Youngstown State University and pursued a nursing career in Windsor, Ontario, Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario and Bermuda before returning to Warren in 1968, and working at Warren State Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for 37 years before retiring.

Meri never sat still for very long and had various projects and side gigs. If she wasn’t redecorating Hilltop House, she operated “Chandelier” – a chandelier restoration and cleaning business. She beautifully restored and cleaned several chandeliers in the Library Theater building among many others in Warren. She was creative, passionate about interior design, artwork, contra dancing, her fur babies (kitties) and, of course, her family. If she had a few days free she would take off in her Subaru, think nothing of driving to Michigan or wherever to attend a contra dance. She was positive, and always ready for an adventure, a good laugh and a spin around the dance floor.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Women’s Club, and Cray Art Gallery.

She is survived by brothers, Dave (Sally) Hunter and Fred Hunter of Warren, her sister, Margaret “Margy” Keast, of Tahoe City, CA; nieces, Jean (Jon) Anderson, Jessica (Chuck) Gern, Jill (Gary) McCollough; great-nieces and nephews, Zane Anderson, Corinn and Tyler Gern, Riley, Jacob, and Will McCollough; brother-in-law, Brian McIntosh of Warren, PA, Stepsons, Keith and Lane McIntosh of WV, step- grandchildren, Henry, Oliver and Virginia McIntosh and several cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her niece, Barbara Ellen Hunter, and her husband, Allen McIntosh in 2023.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. A memorial will be held at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W 3rd Ave, Warren, PA 16365, on Friday, Dec. 5, with visitation from 10AM-11Am, memorial service at 11AM officiated by Rev. Jeff Ewing, with a luncheon to follow.

Online condolences to the family may be made at www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com or on our Facebook page.

Meri, your spirit lives on……we love you.
