Kenneth A. Wilson

Mr. Kenneth A. Wilson of Panama, NY passed away June 18, 2025 at UPMC Chautauqua. Kenneth was born on June 7, 1935, the son of Albert Wilson and Esther Ruland Wilson of Bear Lake PA.

Kenneth was an avid naturalist and gifted in many ways. His numerous photographs of landscapes were featured on many local calendars and periodicals. He was a self-taught mechanic who maintained his own vehicles including the family Farmall tractor which he kept in pristine condition. He was also often seen driving his bright red and black convertible top 1953 MG that he rescued from a junkyard and rebuilt. Kenneth and longtime pal George Smith built their own canoe and paddled all over the area and throughout the many lakes and rivers dotting the Adirondacks. He made and displayed 8mm films of Allegheny State Park, the Allegheny River and the Adirondacks. Kenneth owned and operated a custom printing business out of his home for many years and was its sole employee. The actual printing press he utilized has been donated to the Panama Historical Society. Ken’s first love however was the world of nature where he found his real calling in the photography of its beauty. He also had many like-minded friends and three great pals in his lifetime. Those pals were a horse named “Mabel”, a Jersey milk cow named “Darcy”, and her calf.

Kenneth was pre-deceased by his parents, his eldest sister Edith Button (2024), sister Ruth Wilson (2009), and a nephew Gary Button (2006). He is survived by niece Sandra (Wayne) Howard and nephew Rodney (Gale) Button.

A private scattering of Ken’s ashes will be held for relatives and close friends in the near future at a place where he often enjoyed his communion with nature.
