Elizabeth J. Cowles Huck
Elizabeth Jane Cowles Huck, 100 years old, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 9, 2025. Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Willoughby, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harry Russell Cowles and Bessie Mae Yarnell Cowles. She was married to Norman Phillip Huck of North Warren on June 1, 1948, who preceded her in death in Jan. of 1979. She was a life-long member of the Warren First Church of the Nazarene, Warren, PA.
She spent most of her life in Warren attending Warren schools graduating in the class 1942. She attended Bible College in Chicago, IL and Eastern Nazarene College near Boston, MA. Her love of music involved many years of piano and organ studies. She served as the church pianist and organist for 65 years.
Through the years she worked at Blair, Warren County School District driving special needs students, and for seventeen years at Penn State Cooperative Extension Service in the Courthouse as secretary and office manager. She ended her working career as office secretary at Warren First Church of the Nazarene.
She dearly loved her family and the joy of time spent with husband and children. Family was a high priority. Her interests included cooking, baking and reading. Many happy vacations were spent camping in state parks and traveling with family. In later years her love of travel took her to nine European countries, Israel, Egypt, and Canada.
She is survived by three children: Kathy H. Conklin (Warren), Randall D. Huck and wife Nadean (Russell), and Robert N. Huck and wife Ruth (Warren), seven grandchildren: Rachael Bill and husband Rev. Michael (Turnersville, NJ), Jennifer Huck (Russell), Katie Spencer and husband Brandon (Lexington, KY), Jason Huck and wife Misty (Russell), Maria Miller and husband Greg, (Warren), Kari Salapek and husband Clinton (Warren) and Michael Conklin (Warren), nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and their wives, David E. Cowles and wife Marie and Rev. H. Robert Cowles and wife Marjorie, Son-in-law Robert Conklin, a granddaughter, Julie Huck and a great grandson, Christian Salapek.
Visitation will be held from 10 -11 a.m. at Warren First Church of the Nazarene, 907 Pennsylvania Avenue E. Warren, PA, on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m.
