Elaine Beverley Schuyler North

She was born on December 17, 1942, in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Pasco Schuyler. Elaine grew up in Cable Hollow, PA and graduated from Eisenhower High School in June 1960. She continued her education at West Liberty State College in West Virginia, where she earned her degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1963.

Elaine devoted more than 30 years to her profession as a dental hygienist, working in Pittsburgh, PA, Los Alamos, CA, Santa Ana, CA, and Warren, PA, before retiring in 1999. Beyond her career, she was a gifted painter and deeply interested in genealogy, serving as the Schuyler-Pasco family historian. She was also a proud member of the General Joseph Warren Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother Bruce, her brother Erwin, her husband Gary S. North, and her son Timothy P. Hart.

She is survived by her sister Sandra Van Houten; her daughter, Colleen Laxdal; stepchildren, Gary North Jr., Kim Reeder, and James North; and daughter-in-law, Gail Hart. Elaine was a loving grandmother to Amber, Nikki, Andy, Magnus, Jacob, Zachary, Ryan, Tyler, and Abigail.

Her family and friends will remember her for her quiet strength, her dedication to preserving family history, and her love of art and heritage.

Family and friends will gather at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, on Thursday, September4, from 6-8 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, at 11 am with Rev. Bill Beaty, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Historical Society in Elaine’s honor.
