Wilma Ola Mae Battko, 81, of Youngsville, and previously of Pleasantville, PA, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at the Rouse Home.
Wilma was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late William Henry Pierce and Ethel Marie Lindemuth Shaffer. She was a Nurse’s Aide and CNA, retiring from the Rouse Home.
She attended Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. She loved babies, animals, horseback riding, and fishing when children were younger, and loved supporting her grandchildren in their sporting events. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by her children, Wilmae (Elaine) Christensen, and husband Ted of Warren, Terrie Riel, and husband Reverend Charles Jr. of Youngsville, Angie Clever, and husband Jeffrey of Youngsville, Michael Battko, and wife Shannon of Warren, and Anita Schimp of Russell; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ethel Anna McKendree of Sugar Grove; and many nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her son, William (Billy) Slater; grandsons, Joshua Riel, and Brian Clever; brother, Raymond Shaffer; and sisters, Faye Sheets and Dorothy Shaffer.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Charles Riel Jr., son-in-law, officiating.
Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Rouse Home Daycare Program, 701 Rouse Ave., Youngsville, PA, or to Animal Rescue of Choice.
