Thomas Grillo Jr., 92, of Oakwood, OH, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Aug. 18, 2025.

He was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Warren, PA, son of the late Thomas & Rose Grillo (Berardi). Thomas retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a highly decorated officer and Master Navigator with over 7,000 flying hours. He flew over 100 combat missions in the AC-130 Spectre gunship during the Vietnam conflict and held several command and staff positions during his Air Force career. He followed his military service with a successful business career and was a member of several professional organizations.

He was incredibly dedicated to his family and always attempted to lead his life with style, grace, and dignity. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irma, of 63 years; daughter and son-in-law, Adria and David Peck; step-children, Leza (Clyde) Hoeflich and William Brown; loving granddaughters, Alexandra (Richard), Ashley, Christina (Gary), Natasha (Scott); grandsons, Jason (Tara) and Jeremy (Katie); and great-grandchildren, Olivia Rose, Graden, Brenden, Isabelle, Lilian, and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Carl Grillo, and his sisters, Mary Nicoletti, and Frances Andolora.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Celebrant Brian Bennett will be officiating the services. A committal service with full military honors will be held at Bellbrook Cemetery.
