Rosemary K. Kostkas, 87, of Tidioute, PA, died on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, in Kinzua Healthcare and Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Warren, PA, on Feb. 16, 1938, the daughter of the late James P. and Mary S. (Snyder) Kelly. Rosemary was a 1956 graduate of Tidioute High School. She worked for many years as an operator with the Bell Telephone Company. Rosemary also worked for the Tidioute Public Library. She was of the catholic faith and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Tidioute, PA. She was a former member of the St. John’s Catholic Church Ladies Guild. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, reading, puzzles, and her beloved dogs. Rosemary loved spending time with her close friends of over 40 years. After retirement, she and her husband John enjoyed time traveling to Florida and other destination’s.
On Sept. 26, 1959, in St. John’s Catholic Church, Tidioute, PA, she married John M. Kostkas, and they spent nearly 65 loving years together.
Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, John of Tidioute; son, James P. Kostkas of Warren, PA; grandson, Matthew Kostkas of Warren, PA; and several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her son, John Kostkas who passed May 29, 2020; her brother, Joseph Kelly, and sister-in-law, Laura Kelly. Rosemary was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A private graveside service will be held at the convivence of the family in Tidioute Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph J. Kalinowski, pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church, officiating.
