Henry “Ray” Goetz
Henery “Ray” Goetz, 77, of Warren, PA, passed away on July 8, 2025 at the Warren Manor. He was born Nov. 19, 1947, PA in Bellevue, PA.
Ray attended Saegertown Junior/Senior High School, later completing his GED. He was drafted and served his country in the Unites States Army, during the Vietnam War. He had worked for many years as a truck driver, owning and operating his own rig for a time.
Ray was a member and friend of Pleasant Community Church where he attended regularly, serving over the years as a deacon, greeter, and scripture reader. Ray generously supported financially the children and youth programs at the church. Ray, particularly, enjoyed the hymns of the church, and on occasion, delighted the congregation in special music. For a time, Ray participated and helped lead a musical ensemble that traveled across the state, visiting senior community centers and nursing homes, ministering and singing to their residents. Ray loved the Lord and his church family and desired for others to discover and embrace the joy he had found through Jesus Christ, his Lord. Ray was a model train enthusiast building, operating, and sharing his own miniature model railroad collection with his neighbors, friends, and the greater community. He also enjoyed repairing computers.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and dear friend and companion, Nancy Carlson. He is survived by his two daughters, Sara and Molly.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service and Picnic at the Pleasant Community Church Pavilion, 673 Pleasant D., Warren, PA, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 5:30 pm, officiated by Rev. James A. Swanson II. In the event of inclement weather, the service and picnic will take place in the church fellowship hall (handicap accessible).
