Edith E. Turner

Edith E. Turner

Edith Elizabeth “Betty” Turner, 87, formerly of Warren, PA, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born May 27, 1938, in Tidioute, PA, the daughter of the late Lucius and Edith (Johnson) Flasher. She was a 1956 graduate of Tidioute High School. She was employed at the GG Green/Keystone Stamping.

Betty was a member of the Warren Alliance Church for many years. Her heart was her biggest strength. She lived with a love that radiated around her. If you knew Betty you knew that there was at least one person that was rooting you on. She opened her home to many in need, never asked how long or what they could give in return, she would just give them a safe place. Her love of others extended to nature as well. She loved horses, deer, bunnies and “country kittens” (skunks), yet if a mouse crossed her path she would scream and run for the hills. Betty had extended her love of culture and people by bringing a foreign exchange student into her home for a year. Sue was her name and she quickly became a part of the Turner family. Betty enjoyed playing games and going on side by side rides with her loved ones, but you better watch out as she loved going fast and throwing dice like a pro. Betty’s goal in this life was to make sure that everyone she knew felt like they were loved and appreciated.

Betty is survived by three children, Jeff Turner and wife Dawn of Russell, PA, Bryan Turner and wife Mary of Brevard, NC, and Faith Gerbec and husband Don of Russell, PA; nine grandchildren, Chad, Nathan, Phelina, Ryan, Shane, Justin, Eric, Brent, and Kaylee; three great-grandchildren, Colbie, Bowen, and Monroe; siblings, Karen (Jesse) Lucks, and David Flasher.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Mick” Turner, whom she married on April 19, 1957; daughter, Darlene Wingard; and twin brother, John Robert “Bob” Flasher; brother, Lucius “Bill” Flasher.
