Amanda M. Hackett

Amanda M. Hackett
Amanda Michele Hackett, the joy of our lives, passed into the arms of those who went before her into the beauty of heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025. She did so in the loving care of Good Samaritan Hospice House and surrounded by her “happy family,” Linda Mom, Mike Dad, Susanne and Greg. Amanda was born in Warren, PA on Mar. 22, 1980, beloved daughter of Michael E. and Linda J. (Fusco) Hackett.
In addition to her parents, she is also cherished by her siblings Susanne (Smith McAulay) Hackett and Gregory (Emily) Hackett; loving nieces and nephews Lisle and Ezzell McAulay and Morgan and Evan Hackett. She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Doris Hackett, and her beloved William and Virginia Fusco, dedicated grandparents, cherished cheerleaders and eternal supporters.
In her brief but overflowing 45 years of life, she touched countless lives and hearts. A gold medalist in socializing, Amanda participated in Special Olympics in her early years and as a community volunteer as an adult. Always the life of the party, you may have also utilized her services as a “Party Planner,” or caught her for a beer at Snuffy’s or the Draft House. Amanda found the most peace and joy when she was listening to music or singing. Those listening found joy in her joy.
A true extrovert, she felt the most loved and comfortable when she was the center of attention. On her 30th birthday she held her first and only concert of her original music with a live backup band in Asheville, NC to a packed house. A chat with a police officer, a good ride in an ambulance or stay in the hospital with often admiring doctors and nurses, ironically, also made her day. The last few years of Amanda’s life brought too many of those stays. Her exceptional parents exhausted every medical option, and Amanda bravely withstood every treatment available to keep her earthside with all of us until her body simply needed to rest and be free of pain.
Please join us as we celebrate Amanda with visitation Tuesday, Aug. 19, 4-7 PM and Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 9:30 AM until time of prayer at 10:30 AM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. followed by an 11 AM Mass at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Margaret Mary Parish, 1 Parish Place, Moon Township, PA 15108.
The family kindly requests that any floral tributes be replaced with donations to Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh and Morgantown or Hospice of Warren County (the one with the butterfly, 1 Main Ave. Warren, PA). Amanda’s phone is still accepting voicemails and texts and she says: “Call me. Text me.”
