Agnes “Aggie” B. Reed, 85, of Warren, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Tuesday morning, Aug. 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Jan. 9, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Betz. She graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in 1957 and later built a fulfilling career as a notary public, proudly serving the community for 17 years at Warren AAA.
On Aug. 6, 1960, she married Samuel B. Reed, with whom she shared a joyful and adventurous marriage until his passing in Dec., 2011. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Aggie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Shee njoyed playing bingo and was also a member of The Moose Club and the Warren Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to stay busy with hobbies like crossword puzzles, tole painting, and knitting–and many family members will fondly remember her through the Christmas ornaments and paintings she lovingly handmade and gifted throughout the years. Her creativity and warmth were evident in every stitch and brushstroke.
Aggie led a full and joyful social life. She cherished time spent on girlfriend weekends, bowling trips, Red Hatters outings, and playing cards with friends. After retiring, she and Sam traveled in their fifth wheel, making unforgettable trips to Alaska, Louisiana,and out west following the legendary Route 66 trail with her good friend Rosie.
She is survived by her children:- Debrah Swanson and her husband Craig, of Russell, PA- Lori Reed Toth and Joe Occhipinti, of Lebanon, NJ- S. Brice Reed and his wife Yvonne, of Warren, PA. Her loving spirit lives on in her grandchildren she was so proud of:K. Bailey Reed, Paul Toth, and Shannon Toth.
Aggie is also survived by her dear sister, Carol Jones, and her husband Ken, of East Aurora, NY, and by her loyal and comforting pets, John-Boy and Ziva. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Jen Stewart and Elvis Wegg, and Susan Guenther for their devoted care and kindness during Aggie’s final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave. Warren, PA, 16365,whose compassionate care brought comfort and peace to Aggie and her loved ones.
Agnes B. Reed’s legacy is one of laughter, strength, and unconditional love. Her spark will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her–and in the ornaments, paintings, stories,and cherished memories she leaves behind.
