Charles R. McFate

Charles (Chuck) Raymond McFate of Grand Valley, PA, passed peacefully on June 28, 2025 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA. He was born on June 22, 1933, the son of the late Charles and Annabel McFate. Chuck was born at the McFate family homestead in Neiltown, PA and grew up in the Neiltown/Pleasantville/Titusville area.

Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Anne Litzinger. Together they were long time residents of Grand Valley, PA where they raised 3 sons, Rick David, Rodney Scott and Troy Lynn. Peggy passed on June 28, 1999 and Chuck later married Jean Ames. Together they spent the last years together.

Chuck was active in the community. He coached little league baseball in the Upper Allegheny Hot Stove League. Chuck was a 32nd degree mason in the New Castle Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoyed fishing, trapping, and hunting with his sons. He especially enjoyed small game hunting with his beagle dogs, and raccoon hunting with his hounds.

Chuck made a career in manufacturing, in management position. He took advantage of continuing education afford to him through his employers and earned the equivalent of and Industrial Engineer degree without certifications. He worked for several manufacturing companies in the tri county area including Corry Jamestown, Singer, Hon Industries, Corry Manufacturing and Inter Royal.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Jean McFate; his sister, Sherly Peterson of Warren OH; his sons, Rick, Rod and his spouse Jenny; Troy and his spouse Kim; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice Peterson of Warren OH.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
